Our sisters
ventured in to different kind of activities by living among the slum
communities of Nagpur by sharing
their time and talents to create love ,brother and sister hood by
living among the people of all faith awaking people to the realities of
life, educating and empowering them with life skills especially women
and school dropout girls and celebrating life events..
Vishwodaya sheltered thousands of women, young
girls, youth, children and the marginalized
in the past years bringing sunshine and smiles on their faces and wiping
their tears and
transforming them into pearls of power to
rebuild their homes and lives. The
sisters along with the dedicated collaborators past and present have
taken up various activities and projects to meet the challenges in
building people and communities both urban and rural. The polio projects
of different districts of Vidharbha, the jalswaraearya project in almost
36 villages are the few examples of the past activities. We continue the
life skill trainings to school dropout girls and women in distress to
enable them to stand on their own legs and become financially
independent and live with dignity and support their families.
We
create awareness in society both Urban and Rural on health and hygiene,
on women and women related problems, The Domestic Violence Act.,
Laws pertaining to women ,human rights ,HIV/Aids, Human
trafficking etc. We organize women’s self Help Groups(SHG ) and support
and animate them. We also net work with the government agencies for the
rehabilitation of young women and girls rescued form flesh trade by
encouraging , counseling and giving them life skill
trainings so that they think of a different way of living and
liberate themselves from flesh trade and live with dignity and self
respect .
